Your theme (Blocksy) has built-in optimizations. Enabling these SOL features may cause issues:
- Blocksy serves its own dynamic Customizer CSS to a global.css file. Generating page-wide Critical CSS on top of that can briefly hide above-the-fold styles and cause FOUC.
- Blocksy loads its module styles conditionally. Aggressive Used/Unused CSS removal can strip styles Blocksy adds dynamically — test thoroughly before enabling site-wide.
- Blocksy already handles image lazy loading, local Google Fonts, disabling WP emojis and “File” mode CSS output — leave those to Blocksy instead of duplicating them.
- Blocksy does NOT minify or combine your bundles, so SOL’s Minify CSS/JS, Combine CSS/JS, image WebP/CDN, caching and database tools are safe and complementary.
- Only Critical CSS and Used/Unused (RUCSS) overlap conceptually with Blocksy’s conditional CSS delivery — enable those last and verify your templates.
